Nobody was quite sure what to expect when electric vehicle maker Rivian quietly purchased the old Groveland Gas station and transformed it into a tastefully-designed, welcoming rest stop downtown. We were surprised at just how welcoming…you don’t have to own a Rivian to pop in and sit a few minutes in the lounge, drink a cup of complimentary coffee, and treat yourself to a handful of healthy trail mix or decadent malted milk balls for 50 cents an ounce. We were thrilled when Rivian staked their claim on the 49er Festival’s Auto Pavilion sponsorship.
Rivian’s marketing approach is unique and refreshing. No hard-core sales pitches here. Instead, Rivian promotes outdoor adventures and exploring nature in style, comfort, and with a keen eye on the environment.
In a seemingly unlikely pairing, Savage Diggins Motorcycle Club has volunteered to staff the Auto Pavilion and manage the People’s Choice voting process. Our friends at Savage Diggins have also volunteered to help tear down after the festival. Many thanks to this great group of community-minded bikers who are always willing to lend a hand! The Auto Pavilion Awards will be announced on the Main Stage at 3:15 pm. Be sure to check out all the awesome vehicles and cast a vote for your favorite set of wheels.
