Visit Tuolumne County Grabs the Main Stage

49er Festival Helps Drive Tourism; Strengthens Visitor Economy

The ink was barely dry on the 49er Festival Sponsorship brochure when Visit Tuolumne County stepped up as our Main Stage Sponsor.

It’s the mission of our visitors bureau to enhance Tuolumne County’s economy through tourism. In 2021, visitors to Tuolumne County spent $241.8 million, supporting more than 2,260 tourism-related jobs. 2022 domestic travel spending continues to recover, and Visit Tuolumne County aims to entice more visitors than ever.

Funded by a portion of Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) dollars, Visit Tuolumne County runs TV, radio, print, and digital advertising as well as partnering with organizations like Visit California and Brand USA to get even more reach to both domestic and international audiences.

On the local front, Visit Tuolumne County is committed to helping maintain a vibrant, exciting, and beautiful place to live, work, and play. They do this through the Community Investment Program, a reinvestment of marketing dollars into local events or other destination activities that support the bureau’s mission to attract out of town visitors, drive overnight stays, generate a strong visitor economy midweek and during off-peak times, and to enhance the experience for both visitors and locals.

Lisa Mayo, President and CEO of Visit Tuolumne County believes in partnerships as a means to a greater outcome. “Events like the 49er Festival are a major driver for tourism. We are pleased to partner with the Yosemite Chamber on this and other initiatives that are proving to create a stronger visitor economy and a more resilient, exciting and diverse destination for both residents and visitors.”

Programs like Wander Freely and the Tuolumne County Craft Beverage Trail enable our small businesses to get wider exposure than most are able to afford themselves. And, without the resources and partnership of Visit Tuolumne County, small towns like Groveland and small organizations like the Yosemite Chamber would struggle to execute crowd-pleasing events like the 49er Festival. As Hot Chili Charlie would say, “We’re mighty grateful!”

Making the 49er Festival Better Than Ever and keeping it free for attendees is only possible because of the generous support of our sponsors. Sponsorships are still available in all the metal-level categories (Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze). Show our visitors your brand and show our locals you support them.
