Visit Tuolumne County - 2024 Festival Partner

For countless years, Visit Tuolumne County has been a major sponsor of the 49er Festival and a strong supporter of Yosemite Chamber’s efforts to improve our local economic climate. We’re delighted to welcome them once again as our Festival Partner as we roll out The Taste of Tuolumne.

Visit Tuolumne County is funded by a percentage of the county’s TOT (Transient Occupancy Tax) levied on all types of lodging from high end resorts to campgrounds. Those funds fuel domestic and international marketing programs that entice visitors to our magnificent vacationland…programs that a small chamber like ours will never be able to afford.

Thanks to sponsors like Visit Tuolumne County, we can continue to produce a funtastic and free 49er Festival to celebrate our heritage, our heroes, and the end of the summer season. With this year’s transition from the chili cook-off to The Taste of Tuolumne, the team at Visit Tuolumne County was on board from the get-go as we developed the concept.

It’s very exciting to see the 49er Festival grow and evolve. The Taste of Tuolumne is a great shift as it will showcase the incredible culinary talent we have throughout the County,“ said Lisa Mayo, President and CEO of Visit Tuolumne County. “Visitors and residents will be able to sample amazing local cuisine which will encourage them to patronize our local restaurants and businesses throughout the year. It’s a win-win and we are pleased to be part of it.”

Thanks to Visit Tuolumne County and their destination marketing programs, the Yosemite Chamber can focus on programs our volunteer board members can carry out locally while keeping our membership fees affordable. Like delivering The Weekly to a large and growing list of subscribers 52 times a year, executing Loyal to Local programs that benefit local businesses as well as service groups like our first responders and educators, and being a strong and active voice on issues that affect our businesses and our community.

Thanks to major contributions from Visit Tuolumne County, the Yosemite Chamber was able to raise the required 25% of matching funds to satisfy the Clean CA grant that finally brought waste and recycling receptacles as well as hanging and standing planters and benches to downtown Groveland.

We simply couldn’t ask for a more caring, supportive, and engaged partner than Visit Tuolumne County. So stop by their booth at the 49er Festival and tell the team “Thanks for everything.”
