Members of the community and County staff stood before the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday morning, December 17, to thank District 4 Supervisor Kathleen K. Haff for her four years of dedication to serving Tuolumne County and representing District 4 constituents across the South County. Yosemite Chamber board members Shirley Horn and Patricia Epp were on hand to commend Supervisor Haff for her collaborative approach and strong partnership on behalf of our Highway 120 businesses and community. District 1 Supervisor and Chairman David Goldemberg was also honored as he completes his term and leaves the board.
Supervisors Haff, Goldemberg, and Brandon assumed their terms in January of 2021, a baptism by fire as the new leadership team was faced with running the County during the height of the COVID pandemic. Haff’s emphasis on kindness was cited multiple times by County staff and her fellow supervisors as a welcome message that during times of disagreement or high pressure, showing kindness and respect makes the process both more productive and enjoyable.
And productive they were during those unprecedented times. Haff can lay claim to a litany of achievements over the course of her term, most notably her relentless pressure on PG&E for accountability which resulted in PG&E’s commitment to major undergrounding and wire hardening projects in PML, downtown Groveland, and Big Oak Flat.
