Miners Mart: Fueling the Auto and the Soul

Mom always said a good breakfast fuels the soul. So when your bodies (auto and human) crave fuel, look no further than Miners Mart. Our busiest gas stop is also one of our best-kept secrets for yummy breakfast sandwiches, grab-n-go burgers, and of course, Scott’s awesome smoked brisket every Friday. We’ve come to rely on Miners Mart to be open and ready to serve in the face of power outages, impending fire danger, and other natural and unnatural disasters, whether we need to fill our gas tanks, our tummies, or our yearning to win the lottery.

It’s not at all surprising, then, that Miners Mart stepped up to sponsor the 49er Festival Auto Pavilion. Talk about a perfect pairing! Taking the cue from last year’s Auto Pavilion, Miners Mart is hosting the Auto Show awards with a line-up of three great prizes. In addition to commemorative trophies, Second and Third Place winners will receive a Napa (Pine Mountain Auto Supply) Car Wash bucket stuffed with the best products for keeping their motor-baby shining and a $25 Miners Mart gift certificate. First Place will receive two Miners Mart hoodies and a $100 gift certificate from Miners Mart. Be sure to check out all the awesome rides and vote for your favorite.

Motorized parade entrants are encouraged to display your vehicles at the Miners Mart Auto Pavilion following the Main Street Parade. This year’s Auto Pavilion will be located on the grass in Upper Mary Laveroni Park. Seriously? You can’t get a better parking spot for the 49er Festival! There’s still time to enter the parade. Email 49erfestival@yosemitechamber.org for an application.

Terri and Scott Wemmer, owners of Miners Mart, are part of the Big Oak Flat/Groveland area’s sturdy backbone. Their staunch commitment to this community shows in many ways, going far beyond their successful convenience oasis at the top of the Grade. Following the Moc Fire, Miners Mart sold t-shirts and pledged the proceeds towards a project to install an Early Warning Siren system around our area. At Halloween, Terri, Scott, and the family host Trunk or Treat in Mary Laveroni Park, giving local children the chance to show off their costumes and trick-or-treat in a safe and caring environment. Trunk or Treat attracts many big ghouls and wicked zombies in ghostly-decorated vehicles, pushing candy and sweets at throngs of happy costumed kids. Watch for announcements in the Weekly and social media about this year’s Trunk or Treat and Main Street Halloween festivities.

A big Thank You to Miners Mart for sponsoring the 49er Festival Auto Pavilion, and for keeping us gassed up, fueled with great food, and ready for anything.
