Rajvi Shah is all about building genuine, long-lasting relationships in the community, starting with her fellow business owners. As CEO of Serenite Hotels, she and her husband Amar Alapati understand that local bonds are essential to success, in good times and bad. When they purchased the Groveland Hotel, they made a commitment to staying deeply engaged with the community and to remain a trusted, welcoming place that embodies the warmth, spirit, and values of Groveland. And they walk the talk. The Groveland Hotel has been major sponsors of the 49er Festival since 2023, they’ve hosted numerous local meetings and themed events, and last week, they threw a holiday party for local business owners and nonprofit leaders.
There was great food (of course!), entertainment by local musician Michael Dryden, and a surprise guest, California State Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil (R). And since it was a party, the speeches were short and the conversations were engaging.
Senator Alvarado-Gil represents the state’s District 4, covering thirteen mostly-rural counties from Truckee to Death Valley and including all four gateway entrances to Yosemite National Park. Elected in 2022, the charismatic senator brings a strong focus on small businesses, who are the “heartbeat of our communities.” Alvarado-Gil thanked the Groveland Hotel for inviting her to the event and added, “I look forward to my return to Groveland in the near future. I support the local businesses and celebrate their contribution to our economy and hometown values and traditions.” The Yosemite Chamber is working with the senator’s staff to organize future visits.
Rajvi summed it up with, “Thank you to everyone who showed their support and joined us at our holiday party on January 2nd, as we welcomed 2025. Your presence and continued partnership mean the world to us, and we look forward to another year of growth and shared success together.”
What a great way to start the year. Thank you, Groveland Hotel/Aroma Tavern!
